Emergency Food Drive: Local High Schoolers Can Use Your Help

Lassen Ale Works and Les Schwab Tires making big contributions to the emergency food drive.

With the temporary suspension of classes for local schools there is an immediate and urgent need for food to help students who normally rely on their school for meals. To that end organizers are collecting food for Lassen High Students today at the high school.

You can drop off non-perishable food Thursday and Friday at the high school’s office, 1110 Main Street, between 9:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. to help ensure that students eat over the break.

Organizers will store surplus and students will be given an emergency contact number that if they need more they can contact the school at a later time and arrange to receive a secondary bag

Bags need to be filled for 25 students. Organizers need the following items:

Bread
Peanut butter
Jelly
Crackers
Beef jerky
Gatorade
Spaghetti and noodles
Oatmeal packets
Power Bars
Granola Bars
Fruit snacks
Apples
Oranges
Canned tuna
Shampoo
Conditioner
Deodorant
Body wash
Bags or boxes to pack them
Giftcards are also accepted.
