Elburna McClelland
Elburna McClelland passed from this earth peacefully at County Villa Riverview Rehabilitation hospital March 6, 2014. She was born to Pioneer family Fred and Edna Johnston April 18, 1921 on their home ranch in Litchfield. In 1939, she graduated from Lassen High School and married Pierce McClelland moving to the McClelland Ranch in Standish where she worked side by side with Pierce operating the ranch and raising their three children.
Elburna was a 1962 charter member of the Lassen County CowBelles. She served as a director and worked on countless committees during her membership, and was honored as “Mom of the Year” in 1979. Elburna was also an active member of the ”Native Daughters of the Golden West” for many years and active in the Standish Bible Church.
Elburna was predeceased by husband, Pierce McClelland, brother, Tom Johnston, sister Gladys Johnson, baby sister Helen Mary, daughter-in-law Donna McClelland, granddaughters, Janice McClelland and Burna McClelland. Surviving her is son Tom McClelland (Judy), of Janesville, daughter Nancy Urionaguena of Susanville and daughter Helen Finks (Jim) of Janesville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Beckie McClelland, Brook Hemping, Bill Finks, Victor Urionaguena and Steve Urionaguena. Eight great grandchildren, Pierce McClelland, Madelyn Hemping, Conner Finks, Chance Ford, Hunter and Mia Urionaguena, Riley and Kelley Urionaguena. Four nieces, Patty Gomez, Raelene Waltman, Karon Hester and Shery Packwood also survive her.
