Thanks to everybody who came to the fairgrounds on Wednesday to help stuff eggs!

Susanville’s annual Community Easter Egg hunt will be held this Saturday at the Lassen County Fairgrounds with lots of candy-filled eggs thanks to some wonderful volunteers who spent Wednesday afternoon stuffing the plastic eggs.

More than fifty volunteers came to help stuff the 7,000 eggs that will be strewn about the fairgrounds’ lawn Saturday.

Thanks to our volunteers from Susanville Future Farmers of America, Miss Lassen County and her court, the Susanville Police Explorer Post, Soroptimist S-Club, Lassen’s Cadet Corps, Mini-Miss California Heart Shine, the Lassen High Interact Club, 4-H, Job’s Daughters and several really nice families and individuals who showed up. Everybody helped so much!

And thanks to Jeff and the Susanville Pizza Factory for bringing pizza and Jim Wolcott at the fairgrounds for setting everything up for us.

The gates open Saturday at 8:30 and groups start at 9:00 with a different age group starting every 10 minutes.

  • 9:00 for Under 2
  • 9:10 for Ages 2 to 4
  • 9:20 for Ages 5 to 7
  • 9:30 for Ages 8 to 10

The Easter Bunny will be at the fairgrounds so bring your cameras for a photo opportunity.

Each age group has a chance to find the ‘gold egg’ to be turned in for an Easter basket filled with assorted goodies and prizes sponsored by the Susanville Soroptimists and Mini-Miss California Heart Shine.

This year’s Community Easter Egg hunt is being brought to you by C&S Waste Solutions, Smith Properties, Susanville Sunrise Rotary, Les Schwab Tires, Nobles Construction Components, Susanville Soroptimists, One Stop Office, Susanville Supermarket IGA and SusanvilleStuff.com.
