Dr. Bateson’s Weather Corner: New Storm Totals

Thursday, December 4th, 2014

Rain continues to fall in the valleys of Lassen and Plumas counties with higher elevations and mountain passes still seeing accumulations of snow.

As of 8:00 Thursday Dr. Bateson has recorded another .3 inches at his observatory south of Susanville, bringing our December total up to 2.75 inches.

“That is 75% of average in the first four days, says Bateson. “We are now at 7.2 inches for the year and up to 126% of our average rainfall for this date.”

The series of wet storms have raised totals up from 85% just four days ago. Forecasters expect rain to continue through Saturday morning.
