Donating to Lassen County Toys for Tots? Here’s Where to Drop Those Toys Off!

Walmart employees donating toys for this year’s Toys for Tots Toyland

Lassen County Toys for Tots is collecting toys to help fill up their Toyland at the Lassen County Fairgrounds, getting ready for the nearly 800 local children who will benefit from the annual program. Friday is the deadline to turn in your application to be a part of this year’s Toyland, and on Saturday volunteers will be collecting donations all day long at the uptown Magical Country Christmas event.

Toys will be collected at the corner of Main and North Roop Streets from 9:00a.m. until after the tree lighting on Saturday.

If you miss Saturday’s toy drop-off you have another chance on December 13th when Toys for Tots will be at Susanville Auto Center with KSUE/JDX raising money and accepting donations from 12:00 to 6:00p.m.

“Lets make a magical Christmas for a child in need in Lassen County this year,” says Toys for Tots organizer Terrie Ginder. “Thank You to our amazing community for their continued support.”

Already this year the program has seen an outpouring of support including one anonymous donor who contributed an enormous pallet full of toys for the cause.

“We had a very generous community member this year. Although he wishes to remain anonymous, we want him to know how truly appreciative we are to him.”

An anonymous donor contributed all these toys to help stock the Toys for Tots Toyland at the fairgrounds

Ginder said that the donation will make a huge difference to many kids in the Toys for Tots and Angel Tree programs.

She also thanked the Lassen Regulators, who have a joined a host of local organizations helping to fund the annual Toyland. The Regulators dropped off toys and a $250 donation from a fundraiser they put on in October.

Local businesses like WalMart have donated toys and money as well.

The Lassen County Toys for Tots program works closely with Holiday with a Hero and Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.

“All three programs strive to reach as many children and families in need in Lassen County as we can,” explains Ginder. “Please consider helping one or all three of the programs.”

“We all truly appreciate the continued support of the amazing and generous community we live in. Without them our programs would not be possible.”

If you can not make it to make a donation drop-off you can mail a check to P.O Box 171, Susanville, Ca. 96130.

Lassen County Toys for Tots is a non-profit 501c3 agency whose sole purpose is to collect cash and toy donations to assist families and children in our community during the Christmas season. All donations stay local. The agency only shops in our local businesses and stores to purchase items for the program, and they give all toys and gifts to local families and children.

Today is the deadline to submit and application to be a part of the program. You can click here and download the application and mail it in. Please read carefully and fill out the application completely. Your completed application must be postmarked by December 6th, 2019. Mail your application to the address listed on the application. If you have any questions please call Toys for Tots at (530) 260-1222 Monday through Friday between 9:00a.m. and 5:00p.m.

The giveaway is on December 21st.
