COVID-19 Update: Public Health Announces New Testing Schedule

Lassen County’s Public Health Department has announced changes to its free drive-thru testing program, with all tests now being scheduled on Wednesdays from 7:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. The drive-thru tests will still be done at the Lassen County Public Health building, 1445 Paul Bunyan Road.

To receive the test you must first register online at https://lhi.care/start. If you have previously had a test at LCPH, you will need to re-register since this is a new vendor.

The Public Health Department will continue to provide COVID-19 Contact Tracing to contain and prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

If you feel like you or someone you care for is exhibiting symptoms, please call the Call Center at Public Health (530) 251-8100 Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.

As of January 18th, at 5:00a.m., here are COVID-19 statistics being reported by local health officials.

Lassen County’s Public Health Department is reporting 167 active cases in the county with eight people currently hospitalized.

Eleven deaths have now been attributed to the infection and so far there have been a total of 1,693 cases reported.

Infections at Local Prisons

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is reporting 34 active cases of COVID-19 among the inmate population at High Desert State Prison.

The number of infections at the California Correctional Center is now at 45. You can follow this link to CDCR’s inmate population tracker.

CDCR is reporting 29 staff members at CCC and 35 at High Desert have active cases.

FCI Herlong is reporting no active cases.
