City of Susanville Interim City Administrator Dan Newton announced on Thursday that Ryan Cochran, an officer with more than two-decades of experience in the Susanville Police Department, will lead the agency as the city’s new Chief of Police. Cochran’s appointment comes on the heels of the retirement of Chief Kevin Jones in May.

In 1998 he came to work for the City of Susanville and in his 23-years of service Chief Cochran has received several law enforcement achievements and awards.
“Through his strong relationship development within our community, Chief Cochran has become a valued employee of the City of Susanville and the Susanville Police Department,” said Newton.
