Thursday, August 15th, 2019

A 59-year old Tehama County resident was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after a collision on Highway 36 near Lassen Park did major damage to his 2001 Toyota.

According to details released Wednesday by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, a man identified as Tommy Sisomsouk was driving westbound at an unknown speed on Highway 36 west of State Route 89 at around 3:30p.m.

“Due to Sisomsouk’s alcohol intoxication,” states the report, “he allowed the Toyota to leave the roadway to the right and collided with a tree.”

According to the CHP Sisomsouk was wearing his lap/shoulder harness and he did not claim any injuries.

The Toyota, however, sustained major front end damage and major damage to the entire passenger side. No airbags were deployed.

Sisomsouk was arrested for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and booked into the Tehama County Jail.
