CHP Incident: Clear Creek Man Suffers Minor Injuries in Highway 36 Collision

A Clear Creek man was taken to Banner Lassen Medical Center Friday after suffering minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover west of Coppervale on Highway 36.

Shortly after 9:00a.m., according to details released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, a man identified as 22-year old Clear Creek resident Julien Santa was driving a 2005 Honda Pilot westbound on the highway at approximately 50 to 55mph.

“For unknown reasons,” explains CHP Public Information Officer Bruce Thuelchassaigne, “Santa allowed the Honda to cross the eastbound lane and exit the roadway to the south.”

The Honda collided with a mile post marker, a dirt embankment and an LMUD power pole before  flipping over and coming to rest on it’s roof.

According to the report Santa was wearing his lap/shoulder harness. Drugs and/or alcohol are not considered a factor in this collision.
