The Lassen Historical Society invites the community to join in a celebration of the museum season opener, Friday, May 4, 2012, beginning at 5pm.
In honor of the Girls Scout’s 100th anniversary, Girls Scouts and Miss Lassen County, Bailey Hagata, will be in attendance to lead the flag ceremony.
New museum displays will be unveiled, the pioneer wagon will be on display, and rides will be offered on the historic Susanville Stagecoach.
Food and beverages will be served. Historical Society Scholarship recipients will be announced. For more information call the museum at 257-3292.
Soroptimist International of Susanville will present “Margarita Fest” on Friday, May 4th, 2012, from 5:30pm – 8:30pm, at Monsignor Moran Hall.
This event will feature live Mariachi music performed by the Susanville Symphony led by Ben Wade, raffle prizes, and ten specialty margarita tables.
Limited pre-sale tickets are available, $10.00 per person, at U.S. Bank (Uptown Branch), Ace Hardware, or by calling Annette Silveria at 251-6324. Each ticket entitles you to one classic margarita, sangria, or beer and one trip to the fiesta nacho bar. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
Sierra Radio Network will host three Primary Election Town Hall Forums that will be broadcast live beginning at 7pm from Middleton Hall, Lassen Community College.
The dates for each 90 minute forum and the candidates featured are as follows; Thursday, May 3rd, Lassen County Superior Court Judge Candidates, Thursday, May 10, Lassen County Supervisor Candidates, and Thursday, May 17, District One, California Assembly Candidates. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend to ask questions of the candidates.
The Chamber will be running the 2012 Fair’s beer concession. This will be a major fundraising event for the Chamber. If you are willing to volunteer contact the Chamber office, 257-4323 or sign-up to volunteer at any Chamber mixer. We are reaching out to the community and the chamber membership, whether you can volunteer for a few hours, a day or various times throughout the week, we need your help. The dates for the 2012 Fair are July 18th thru the 22nd.
