Chamber of Commerce Update for June 5th, 2012

Patti Hagata, Executive Director

Chamber members should be sure that the Chamber’s information center has an adequate supply of your business cards and brochures on hand to promote your business throughout the year. This is a free marketing service that is available to all Chamber members.

The Chamber board will meet on Thursday, June 14th for the monthly board meeting beginning at noon, at Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer.

The board encourages public attendance and comment; if you would like to address the board please contact the

office staff prior to the board meeting so that you can be added to the agenda.

The Lassen Business and Career Network, in partnership with the Lassen County Department of Health and Social Services, have funding available to assist with the cost of hiring employees.

Lassen “Hire Now” funding is available to private employers in Lassen County for hourly wage reimbursement of up to 50% per employee. In addition you can receive assistance with recruitment and screening of qualified job candidates, and individual support for both the employer and the employee. Contact Terri at 257-5057.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend the June mixer that will be held on Friday, June 29th and will be hosted by Mariner’s Resort at Eagle Lake. You do not need to be a Chamber member to attend and we encourage you to bring a friend to enjoy an evening at the lake.

The Chamber will be running the 2012 Fair’s beer concession the week of July 18th thru the 22nd. This will be a major fundraising event for the Chamber.

We are reaching out to the community and the chamber membership, whether you can volunteer for a few hours, a day or various times throughout the week. If you are willing to volunteer contact the Chamber office, 257-4323 or sign-up to volunteer at any Chamber mixer.

The Soaring Eagle Blue Star Moms are looking for help in gathering recreational and sports equipment to ship to our service men and women. The equipment can be new or used including footballs, bats, softballs, gloves, golfing drivers & putters, golf balls & tees, as well as recreational items such as movies & music DVD’s, and video games.

Donations can be dropped off at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall. For more information call 310-2796. Their goal is to make a shipment of the donations by July.
