The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce board of directors, officers, and staff wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Thank you to the membership and the community for all the support throughout the past year. Your support and investment in the Chamber makes possible the many services and events that promote and support business, tourism, and relocation into Lassen County.
Remember that your membership in the Chamber is tax deductible as a ‘necessary business expense’. The average Chamber membership cost $12 per month.
Mark your calendar to attend the Lassen Co. Chamber of Commerce 124th Annual Chamber Membership Dinner and Awards Night, which will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Eagle Lake Village.
The Chamber board is seeking nominations for “Chamber Member of the Year”, “Chamber Business of the Year”, and “Volunteer of the Year”.
Please submit your written nomination for any of these awards by Monday, January 9, 2012 to the Chamber office located at 75 N. Weatherlow Street.
Congratulations to the 2012 Chamber officers elected at the December board meeting; President- Ed Swayze, owner Customer Talk, Vice President- Jessika Johnson, Community Relations Director at Eagle Lake Village , and Treasurer- Jeff Trump of Haws, Theobald, and Auman, CPA’s.
2012 Labor Law Posters have been ordered. They were due to arrive in mid December; however, due to the changes in legislation that did not get finalized until the last minute, the posters will be arriving the first week of January. The Chamber staff will call all businesses that preordered as soon as they arrive.
Alliance for Workforce Development, in partnership with the Lassen County Economic Development Micro-Enterprise Grant Program, is offering Lassen County entrepreneurs and small businesses free training services. One-on-one assistance, group workshops, and technical assistance is available.
To participate, Lassen County businesses need to have 5 or fewer employees (including owners) and meet income eligibility requirements. Samples of assistance include, but are not limited to, advertising/marketing, time management, business planning, bookkeeping/QuickBooks, and customer service.
