CalTrans Straightening Out the Curves to Make Highway 139 Safer

A section of of Highway 139 north of Susanville, which has been prone to accidents for years, is getting a makeover by California Department of Transportation this summer.

The project is re-drawing curves near Antelope Summit – a winding dangerous stretch of road on a highway that serves as a major artery between Susanville and points north including Willow Creek, Eagle Lake, Adin and Bieber.
