Burning Now Allowed within CAL FIRE’s Lassen-Modoc Unit

Monday, December 2nd, 2019

Recent snow and cooler temperatures across the region have lowered the threat of wildfires within the CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit.

This means that burning of dooryard debris can be done without a permit and at any time throughout the day according to CAL FIRE Information Officer Leah Sandberg.

Residents must still contact their local air pollution control district, however, to determine if it is a permissive burn day.

For information about burning outside SRA/CAL FIRE’s jurisdiction, contact your local City/County fire authority.
