BLM Seeking Public Comments on Off-Highway Vehicle Grant Application

The Bureau of Land Management’s Eagle Lake Field Office in Susanville is accepting comments on a request for grant funds from the California State Parks Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division.

The local BLM office is applying for about $357,000 for use in the Fort Sage Off Highway Vehicle Area near Doyle, and for off highway vehicle-related law enforcement needs across the field office’s area of jurisdiction.

A public comment period on the grant application is running from March 5th through April 1st, 2013. Comments must be submitted to the OHMVR Division, 1725 23rd St., Suite 200, Sacramento, CA 95816, or by email, [email protected]. Comments also must be sent to the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, 2950 Riverside Dr., Susanville, CA 96130, attention Marisa Williams, or by email to [email protected].

The field office plans to seek about $135, 500 for a land acquisition, approximately $60,000 for operations and $117,000 for restoration work, all in the Fort Sage OHV area. The office is asking for about $44,000 in grant funds for law enforcement.
