Susanville Meet Attracts Finest Prep School Boys
Invitational Event to Dedicate Field
April 18, 1939

The finest athletes in northern California, from some 20 high schools, will compete Saturday afternoon against some on Nevada’s best in an invitational track and field meet to dedicate Med Arnold Field at Susanville.

The new track has just been completed, and the dedication meet is expected to be one of the finest ever staged in that part of California.

Reno high school Huskies, with strength in the spirits and pole vault, will be powerful contenders for points, although such schools as Chico, Susanville, Sparks, Westwood, Alturas, Auburn and many more will give them a real battle.

The discus and javelin will not be part of the program, but the football throw is to be substituted.
