Triple Threat 8th grade girls traveled to Redding to compete in the Battle for North State sponsored by the Shasta Magic. Triple Threat opened up against the Colusa County Elite beating them 47-13. Game two Triple Threat played the North Valley Vipers winning 52-35. Game three Triple Threat played UPREP from Redding beating them in a close game 47-40, bringing home the Championship.

These girls played their hearts out this weekend. The thing that impressed me the most was how we were able to adjust in transition to a variety of defenses. The opposing teams just couldn’t make the adjustments needed to score.

We executed three different press defenses to perfection totaling 71 steals in 3 games! This is a very fast team that loves to press. It will be exciting to see these girls play at Lassen High School.

Doug Satica and I have coached most of these girls since 3rd grade. We play an average of 30 games a year! Its not just the girls that make this team successful – without the parent support it just wouldn’t happen.

When these girls aren’t playing to their full potential these girls hear it from the parents not just the coach. These are old school parents for sure. In this day in age where everyone gets a trophy its hard to find such an awesome combination. Congrats Girls, so proud of you!
