Susanville Dance Band Performing Two Concerts This Weekend!

danceband2016Susanville’s own boogie woogie, beboppin’, jump jive dancin’ big band is back for two big shows this weekend! The Susanville Symphony’s dance band returns to the stage at the Veterans Memorial Hall this Friday and Saturday nights, bringing another great line up of musical favorites from the last 50 years.

Always a great show, the Susanville Dance Band performances are the only place you can find live swing music and dancing in Lassen County.

“Come out and enjoy the fun it’s going to be a great show,” says Symphony Artistic Director Benjamin Wade.

“This year we have new vocalist making their debut with the swing band in the Susanville Symphony. New vocalists include; Phil Fetterman singing Beyond the Sea, Cami Cutler singing Somewhere and Madison Cole performing Cry Me a River.”

Jon France reunites with the swing band after a two years and Chris Gallagher will sing Cheek to Cheek.

“This year we have chosen lots of dance music and fewer vocalists as well as staying within, for the most part, the swing band era. We are also setting up the audience to make it more dance friendly and back-to-back-to-back songs for more dancing.”

Join big brass, big swing, big saxes and more this weekend at the Veterans Memorial Building across from the high school, starting at 7:00p.m.

Tickets are available now at Margie’s Book Nook and Axia Home Loans.  Don’t miss the fun!
