Susanville CHP Invites You to Stuff the Sleigh for the Salvation Army This Sunday

stuffthesleighHelp brighten a local child’s Christmas by joining the Susanville Office of the California Highway Patrol and the Susanville Salvation Army in collecting toys for the Angel Tree Program.

Along with the familiar Red Kettles, according to the Salvation Army’s website, the Angel Tree program is one of The Salvation Army’s highest profile Christmas efforts.

Angel Tree was created by The Salvation Army in 1979 by Majors Charles and Shirley White when they worked with a Lynchburg, Virginia shopping mall to provide clothing and toys for children at Christmas time.  Since then, the tradition has expanded and now is the cornerstone of The Salvation Army’s Christmas efforts.

Please bring an unwrapped toy or cash donation to the Susanville Grocery Outlet Parking Lot on Sunday, December 11th from 12:00 until 4:00p.m.

Santa will be on hand to take awesome pictures with the kids, don’t forget to bring your camera!
