Sparks Man Found Dead in Vehicle on Forest Service Road

A Sparks, Nevada, man was found dead in a vehicle on a remote road in the Lassen National Forest September 14th according to details released today by the Susanville Office of the California Highway Patrol.

65-year old Glenn Robert Holsworth was reportedly driving a 2012 Ford F250 westbound on Forest Service road 32N10 east of Silver Lake when, for an unknown reason, he allowed his vehicle to drift to the left as he exited a curve in the roadway.

The truck struck a tree south of the road, and came to rest in a culvert with the vehicle’s front end leaning downward and the right rear lifted several feet off of the ground.

After the collision, Holsworth exited the driver’s seat and made his way into the rear passenger area. According to the CHP report it is unknown at this time if the driver suffered any injuries as a result of the collision.

Holsworth was found dead in the rear passenger seating area, wedged between the left rear seat and the driver’s seat.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is handling the death investigation.
