A wildire July 15th, 2004 threatened homes and structures along South Street on the edge of Susanville. The fire started around 1:15pm and over the next several hours blazed close to the homes and down into the Susan River Canyon near the head of the Bizz Johnson Trail. Luckily firefighting resources were readily available and crews made quick work of the blaze.
