On the 22nd of February seven girls from Susanville traveled to Woodland CA to tryout for the Inaugural United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Junior Elite All American teams. To participate in the Junior Elite All American Fastpitch Games July 13th-16th in Kissimmee Florida.
Michaelyn Shirley and Reegan Floyd tried out for the 11U team. Katie Marsh, Neva Adams, Baylee Zahniser, Jordan Crosby, and Cameron Crosby tried out for the 10U team. Each girl that traveled to the tryout has been invited to play on the teams.
The USSSA All American games will be a national tournament represented by 8 different regions thru out the United States between the ages of 10 and 14. Twenty three different try outs were held by the USSSA across the United States for the honor to be named as a USSSA Junior All American. Each regional team will be represented by 15 players in each age group. The games are sponsored by the National Scouting Report. It is a nationally recognized organization for evaluating, scouting and college recruiting. As a result of the girls competing in the games, they will begin to build their college recruiting portfolios thru the National Scouting Report to be used later.
The girls have been working very hard and are very excited and proud to have the opportunity of representing Susanville at the tournament in Florida.
