The Lassen Arsenal soccer team has quite a talented group of 12-13 year old girls.  They took their fourth straight victory against the Jaguars of Red Bluff on the road Saturday morning.  They played good possession soccer, taking advantage of open space and hitting the give-and-go’s.  As a unit, they moved the ball down the field and made some excellent shots on goal.  Four made it past the Jaguars’ keeper in the first half and three more in the second half.  Arsenal’s game was aided by some breakout offensive performances by Lily Francois and Jamie Elliot.
The defensive unit managed to not only hold a second straight shutout, 7-0, but also keep Red Bluff to only a couple of shots on goal.  Led by outstanding performances by Samantha Magarrell and Sierra Huskey, the defense played as one.  The midfield added some support, as the three defenders did the job of five.  The Lassen ladies played many different positions throughout the game, highlighting their flexibility and potent offense.  They will play against the Palo Cedro Mustangs at Riverside Park on Saturday, September 27th at 10:00 am.
