Sheriff’s Update: Little Valley Man Stable After Being Shot in the Face

A Little Valley man with a gunshot wound to his face was flown to a Redding area hospital for treatment Saturday according to details released today by the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 17th, deputies responded to Little Valley, in the northern part of Lassen County, after receiving a report that a 27-year old Little Valley man had arrived at a residence with a gunshot wound to his face.

According to Sheriff’s Office Captain Kevin Jones the gunshot victim was transported to a hospital in McArthur and eventually flown to a Redding area medical facility for treatment.

“Deputies and Detectives responded to Little Valley to investigate, where they discovered multiple crime scene locations to be processed,” explained Captain Jones.

“Many questions remain as to the circumstances of the shooting, however we do not feel there is an outstanding suspect in this case.”

The shooting victim is currently in stable condition in a Redding area hospital. The case is still under investigation and the Sheriff’s Office hopes to have more details shortly.

“Our thanks goes out to both Shasta and Modoc County Sheriff Office’s for their response and assistance with this incident,” said Jones.
