Lassen Rural Bus will be offering special ‘Free Fare Days’ in the coming weeks where you can ride any route serviced by the buses, including Dial-A-Ride, for free all day on the regular Lassen Rural Bus schedule.
Free fares will be offered on Saturday, April 21st for the Jr. Fishing Derby and an entire week of free fare days will be offered Monday April 30th through Saturday, May 5th.
On April 21st LRB will offer a special service from 6:00 to 8:00a.m., with free pick up within Susanville. After the last normally scheduled trip of the day the bus will come back to Memorial Park to see if anybody needs a ride home within the city. You can ride all normal routes for free on April 21st.
To schedule the morning pick up for the derby call Lassen Rural Bus at (530) 252-7433 by Friday 5pm .
Passengers will receive a daily city wide or daily system wide pass (depending on where they want to travel that day) when they board the bus for the first time on the free days. Any following trip on that same day, passengers only need to show their daily pass.
There is no limit on the number of trips on the same day – ride as much as you like for free!
From Monday, April 30th, to Friday, May 4th, Lassen Rural Bus will provide half-hour service on city route during peak hours. On May 5th the Fairgrounds will be included in the City Route to service the Children’s Fair.
Dial-A-Ride passengers must be approved before booking a trip and, as usual, Dial-A-Ride trips must be reserved at least 24-hours in advance by calling Lassen Rural Bus at 530-252-7433.

The free fare day project is funded by the Low Carbon Transit Operations Program. Encouraging the community to use other modes of transportation, lessening the amount of cars on the road. Free fare day provides the community the opportunity to explore our beautiful county. So, get on the bus and enjoy a free fare day!
