Public Meeting Scheduled to Discuss Caltrans’ 2018 Highway-36 Improvement Plans

Starting in Spring of 2018 the California Department of Transportation will be repaving State Route 36 from Richmond Road, 4-miles east of town, to near the Eagle Lake Road west of Susanville. The project will require some modifications to crosswalks and the crosswalk connections to sidewalks at local street corners.

The Lassen County Transportation Commission will be hosting a community meeting regarding the project and possible opportunities to add cost-effective additional elements. Caltrans representatives will be available to address details of the project.

Discussions are scheduled to include the purpose of the Caltrans paving project and the final design, ideas from community about possible additional elements and a schedule for possible additional community meetings.

LCTC organizers say that input from the public is highly desired and encourage community members, organization representatives, business owners and building owners to attend the meeting.

The discussion will be held Monday, November 20th, from 10:00 until noon in City Council chambers at 66 North Lassen Street.
