Some artistically talented students from Meadow View Elementary got a special assignment Wednesday – using paint, stencils and carving utensils the kids helped decorate pumpkins and coffins for the Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s ‘coffin races’ being held this Friday in uptown Susanville.

David Teeter, who is the man in charge of the uptown Halloween party, along with several volunteers worked with the students to get ready for Friday. The coffin races are part of HUSA’s annual Safe and Sane Trick or Treat event and lots of local businesses are sponsoring coffins to be a part of the fun.

Supplies for coffin decorating were provided by Susanville Ford, Billington Ace Hardware and Susanvile Sunrise Rotary!

For more information about the HUSA Uptown Halloween event or the coffin races call David Teeter at 257-2392.
