The Lassen Historical Society held a special event on October 28th celebrating the life of early California explorer and Lassen County namesake Peter Lassen and his Danish heritage.

Participants had a chance to hear from researcher Dave Freeman and author Ken Johnston.

Following the program Job’s Daughters served Abelskivers, a traditional Danish treat.

The Peter Lassen celebration marked what would have been the explorer’s 217th birthday and was held in the Masonic Temple on North Lassen Street.
