The Historic Lassen County Court House was the center of attention Saturday with a full slate of fun activities celebrating the building’s centennial.
The celebration began at Peter Lassen’s Monument on Wingfield Road, at the court house there were free guided tours, a Lassen County jail historic display was presented by Sheriff Dean Growdon and local historian Tim Purdy gave a free cemetery tour.
Members of the Lassen County Historical Society were on hand to give folks an inside look at the building which has been the center of county government since 1917. Participants got a chance to wander the halls and get a taste of the court house’s history.
