One Arrested After Investigation Turns Up Susanville Counterfeiting Operation

policeupdate3A Janesville man is being held on $30,000 bail after Susanville Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Center Road and found fictitious bills and counterfeiting material.

According to Police Lieutenant Matt Wood, a joint investigation involving both local law enforcement and agents from the U.S. Secret Service led to a search of the residence and subsequent arrest of 49 year-old Randall Thompson on charges of manufacturing phony bills and possessing equipment and material used for making the knock-off currency.

The Susanville Police Department was assisted by the Lassen County Narcotics Task Force, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation during the execution of the search warrant.

Thompson is being held on $30,000 bail at the Lassen County Jail.
