Fire completely destroyed a residence on Riverside Drive late Saturday night displacing occupants of the single-story structure.
According to details released today by Susanville Fire Department Captain Tom Hernandez, the department, along with automatic aid from the Susan River Fire Protection District and CalFire responded to the structure fire at around 11:40p.m.
When crews arrived on-scene they found the residence on fire with the porch and front living area fully involved.
“The Susanville Fire Department along with Cal Fire and Susan River Fire Protection District performed an aggressive attack to extinguish the fire,” said Hernandez.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Agencies responding to the fire included the Susanville Fire Department, CalFire, Susan River Fire Protection District and Lassen County Office of Emergency Services.
Three Chief officers, two Susanville Police units, four Engine Companies and one Truck Company fought the blaze. The American Red Cross was on-scene to assist with temporarily housing the displaced occupants.
