The Governing Board of Shaffer Elementary School District in Litchfield has announced the selection and hiring of Jeff Baker as the school’s new Superintendent/Principal.

According to a press release issued by the district, Baker comes to Shaffer Elementary from Seligman, Arizona, where he served as Principal of a rural K-12 school for three years.

Baker has served in education for more than 17-years as both an elementary teacher and school site administrator. He received his Bachelors of Arts from Western Oregon University and his Masters in Educational leadership from Point Loma University along with his teaching and administration credentials.

In a brief written statement Baker said, “It is an honor to be selected to serve as the Superintendent/Principal of Shaffer Elementary School. I have already received a very warm welcome from the community and I look forward to building relationships with each of our students, parents and staff. I have been excited to hear about the wonderful things that our school has been able to provide our students at Shaffer.”

The Shaffer school board has approved the hiring of two additional teachers and, with this investment in staffing, say they will continue to be able to provide their students with very individualized attention, support and enrichment in every classroom, allowing students the very best opportunity to succeed in high school and beyond.

Baker said, “We are moving forward at Shaffer and I look forward to a very positive year!”
