National Library Week Celebration Scheduled for Saturday

Celebrate National Library Week, and the Lassen Library’s past, present and future, this Saturday, April 14th, at a special day-long event featuring activities for kids, lessons in Susanville history and a look at the many opportunities and resources available your local library.

The event will begin at 11:00a.m. with former Lassen County Supervisor Jim Chapman presiding as Master of Ceremonies.

Everyone is invited to come learn about family literacy, see Native American dancers, hear from Susanville’s pioneer women about the early days of Susanville with an historical portrayal of town namesake Susan Roop Arnold.

There will also be a discussion of the technological advances and opportunities in the library’s future.

The Library Week Celebration will be held from 11:00a.m. until 3:00p.m. and during that time the Friends of the Library will be holding a membership drive and book bag sale. Lassen Aurora Network will be offering popcorn and drinks.

The Lassen Library is located at 1618 Main Street. For more information call 251-8127.
