The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May. Its goal is to invite people of faith to pray for our nation. It was first created in 1952 through a joint resolution of the US Congress and signed into law by President Harry Truman. The theme for this year’s prayer event is “Wake up America”.
A local prayer observance will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 12:00-1:00pm at the United Methodist Church located at 70 S. Lassen St. in Susanville.
Everyone is welcome to join in corporate prayer for our community and our nation. Handicap access to the service will be via Cottage Street.
