Classes at McKinley School had a fun day on February 24th where students got to dress up as Minions, from the Universal Pictures ‘Despicable Me’ franchise, and earned a showing of the Minion movie and a treat in the cafeteria.
The day of fun came about because of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program, which was implemented at McKinley this year with huge success.
Through the PBIS program students have practiced rules and routines on a weekly basis, earning ‘Bulldog Bucks’ for following one of three main focus goals: be safe, be respectful or be responsible.
When the school as a whole fills up the Bulldog ticket tower, they earn a school-wide reward.
School officials say the event was a huge success and a great way to reinforce all that the school and staff have been doing with PBIS this year.
