It was remarkably tragic when a bright, young Susanville man, who had done so much for this community, was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Arcata last June. Daniel Pudlicki, and his family, have played a huge part in our town through their contributions and active participation in the community. Pudlicki was a Lassen High graduate and a high ranking Eagle Scout, making it incredibly appropriate that he be honored with a special bench and memorial garden at the Susanville Elk’s Lodge.
The memorial, built by local scout troop 159, was dedicated in a special ceremony on June 11th. Pudlicki’s parents and brother Aaron were presented with a flag and wall plaque with close friends in attendance.
All of the materials used in the bench are materials that have been found in Lassen County. The plaque on the bench reads:
In Remembrance of Daniel Pudlicki, January 13, 1992 – July 2, 2015
Son, Brother
Eagle Scout of Boy Scout Troop 159,
Sponsored by Susanville Elks & Kiwanis
Have a sit, Rest a while, Enjoy the view.
