Visitors to the Lassen County Department of Child Support Service’s new office on Riverside Drive will be greeted by some incredible new artwork on the walls thanks to local painter and sculptor R.W. McBride.
McBride created not only a prehistoric landscape, replete with dinosaurs and pterodactyls, throughout the agency’s offices, but also decorated walls in several rooms with inspirational and motivational quotes.
According to DCSS Office Manager Chris Sullivan the purpose of the murals is, “to create a positive atmosphere for both parents and children.”
McBride, who works out of his studio on Roop Street, has contributed his considerable talents to many local projects including a gorgeous hand-crafted metal sign for Roop’s Fort and artwork for Lassen County Public Health’s Jeremy the Germ program. He is known throughout the country as a top sculptor and painter with a long list of gallery showings and art installations to his credit.
