Energy Audit

In partnership with Efficiency Services Group, Lassen Municipal Utility District is providing customers with a free snapshot energy audit. You may also receive a limited quantity of FREE energy- saving LED bulbs, CFL bulbs, and high performance shower heads to help you save energy and reduce your electric utility bills. These energy-saving measures are fully funded by LMUD, and will provide you with many benefits.

Why Switch To LED? Lower Energy Costs and Maintenance.

LEDs and CFLs use between 75%-85% less energy compared to standard light bulbs of the same brightness. LEDs and CFLs can also last between 15-25 times longer.

What you should know about LEDs

By far the most energy efficient, cleanest and most eco-friendly way of illumination is LED lighting. LEDs are extremely durable and built with sturdy components that are highly rugged and can withstand even the roughest conditions which make them great for indoor or outdoor use.

What you should know about your showerheads

The high performance showerheads will deliver a great shower, yet reduce the amount of water you use, saving on your water and hot water heating and energy costs.

“LMUD is committed to helping our customers manage their energy use and hope you enjoy the benefits of the audit and products you receive through this program,” said Phillips.

Warm-up time and Dimmer Switches for CFLs

When turned on, CFLs do not initially come on at full brightness. It takes approximately one minute for CFLs to achieve their full brightness. This characteristic of CFLs is a result of how they manage the heat they produce to maximize the life of the CFL.

Do not use with dimmers- CFLs are not to be used with dimmers. If used in a socket controlled by a dimmer, damage can occur to the CFL or the dimmer switch.

CFL Disposal

There is a correct way to dispose of CFLs when they fail. Like paint and batteries, CFLs should be recycled when they no longer work. Visit www.recycleabulb.com/locations for recycle locations in your area.

Warranty

The warranty on your LEDS and CFLs will expire on October 15, 2015. If any of your lights fail prematurely, please call (888) 883-9879 for a replacement. Please do not call LMUD for any light bulb replacements, Efficiency Services Group will be handling all light bulb replacements.
