Lassen Student Makes the Grade: Heads to Geneva for Hadron Collider Internship

Lassen standout Ian Guerrero will head to Geneva, Switzerland this summer to work on the Large Hadron Collider.

Local standout Ian Guerrero, who was born and raised in Susanville, will spend the summer working on the world’s largest and most powerful particle collider in Geneva, Switzerland. Guerrero has been selected by the CSU Nuclear and Particle Physics Consortium for one of 10 highly-competitive summer 2016 internships at the Large Hadron Collider.

Guerrero, who attended Richmond School, Diamond View, Lassen High and then graduated from Long Valley Charter, will be working with the ATLAS experiment, which is part of the CERN LHC near Geneva. He currently majors in Physics at Humboldt State University.
