Lassen Historical Society Offering $1,000 Zellamae Miles Scholarship

The Lassen County Historical Society is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior in Lassen County who plans to attend an accredited college or university.

Interested students can pick up an application from their high school counseling office or the Lassen County Historical Society Museum at 115 North Weatherlow Street. The deadline to turn in the application in is Wednesday, April 4th, 2018.

Please return the completed forms to Lassen County Historical Society Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 321, Susanville, CA 96130 or to the Lassen Historical Museum, 115 North Weatherlow Street, Susanville, CA 96130.

The museum is open Tuesday through Fridays 10:00 to 2:00 and Saturdays from 11:00 to 1:00p.m. Completed applications may also be placed in the museum mailbox, but late applications will not be accepted.

The Lassen County Historical Society promotes interest, education and research into Lassen County’s past, present and future. It strives to collect and preserve records, data, pictures and material pertinent to the history of Lassen County. Anyone interested may become a member.

The Historical Society operates our local museum, which is unique in that it is staffed entirely by volunteers, and admission is free. The museum is located at 115 North Weatherlow.

Membership in the Lassen Historical Society is open to anyone with an interest in the history of our area. Through your membership you help preserve local history, while at the same time making a tax deductible contribution. Click here to download an Historical Society membership application.
