Lassen County Veteran’s Food Locker Supply Drive Begins April 1st

A local organization, with the singular goal of making sure that every Lassen County Veteran can eat, every single day, at least once, can use your help. The Lassen County Veteran’s Food Locker was established two years ago to advocate for the hungry, needy and politically under-represented members of the community who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces.

The food locker, according to organizers, is “dedicated to helping each and every Veteran in our County, try to rise above poverty, with a little help from their brothers and sisters. We are a vocal advocate for the hungry.”

Supply Drive

Two Susanville girls are undertaking the task of organizing a 2-month long supply drive for the Food Locker, with drop off locations at Pathways at 2119 Main Street, the Susanville CHP office on Richmond Road or at the Veterans Memorial Hall on Main Street.

Miss HeartShine USA Community Service Maddi Johnson and Miss HeartShine USA Teen Emily Fluke are inviting community members to help local veterans in need by contributed some much need items including; non-perishable food, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap and washcloths.

If you have items to donate you would like to have picked up you can call 310-6882. The Food Locker Supply Drive will be accepting contributions from April 1st until June 1st.
