Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Weekly Update

Sunday, July 1st, 2018

Patti Hagata, Executive Director

The Lassen County Fair Parade is a time honored tradition. This year’s parade will be held Saturday, July 21st, beginning at 10am.  Stop by the Chamber if you would like to showcase your club or business by entering; entry forms can also be downloaded at

Before the parade don’t forget to attend the Annual Fair Parade Breakfast that will be served at the Susanville Masonic Hall, from 7am to 9:30am, sponsored by the Lassen Lodge #149. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice, and milk.

The Chamber board will meet on Thursday, July 12, 2018 for the monthly board meeting that will begin at noon, at Diamond Mountain Casino in the hotel conference room. The board encourages member attendance and comment; if you would like to address the board please contact the office staff prior to the board meeting so that you can be added to the agenda.

You’re invited to join in the celebration of KSUE radio station’s 70th birthday on Thursday, July 12th, as Sierra Radio Network will host the July Chamber Mixer, from 5:30 to 7:30pm, at the KSUE studio lawn, 3015 Johnstonville Road, Susanville. Enjoy the Susanville Symphony Swing Band under the direction of Conductor Ben Wade. Barbeque will be provided by the 4th Annual Lassen Senior Services Barbeque Cook-off Team, and no-host bar will be available. You do not need to be a Chamber member to attend; everyone is welcome to stop by to mingle with friends and business associates

The Chamber is pleased to welcome new board member Bethany Edholm, of Sierra Cascade Family Opportunities. She is the head start/early head start family and community engagement manager for the organization and a longtime resident of the area. She will begin her term on the board starting at the July board meeting.

The board is accepting applications to fill one unexpired board vacancy. Chamber members who are interested in serving on the board are encouraged to apply. Contact the Chamber staff at 257-4323 for more information or to have an application forwarded to you.

Recently added to the Chamber staff is D’Arcy Ehrlich who is serving as the new executive assistant. Some of you may recognize her friendly face from the One Stop Store, singing the national anthem at local events, or Best of Broadway. We are happy to have her on staff at the Chamber office–stop by, say hi, and welcome her aboard!

Why We Need Reader Support
Our independent, local coverage takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. While we make most of our money from advertising revenues, these days those can only go so far to support what we do. Every dollar our readers contribute goes towards making SusanvilleStuff a stronger voice in the community with better, more comprehensive content. We increasingly need the help of our readers to support us with either a voluntary subscription or a one-time contribution.

You don't have to subscribe to SusanvilleStuff, but we will be incredibly thankful if you do!
