Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Weekly Update

Sunday, January 21st, 2018

Patti Hagata, Executive Director

Learn the basics of starting and running a business by attending a free seminar for new businesses or those in business for a short time. The seminar is co-hosted by Plumas Bank, SCORE, and the Lassen Chamber Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 5:30 pm to 7 pm, at Plumas Bank 3000 Riverside Drive, Susanville.

The free business seminar will be presented by  SCORE  and will cover the factors for success in starting a business, advantages and disadvantages of different business opportunities, what it takes to write a business plan, financial requirements for starting and running a business, sources for financing, developing a marketing plan, pricing and branding and so much more. Come find out if starting a business is right for you. Contact SCORE at 844-232-7227 to sign up to attend the free business seminar or online www.northernnevadascore.org/workshops /.

Chamber members should make sure that the Chamber’s visitor lobby has an adequate supply of your business cards and brochures to promote your business throughout the year. This is a free marketing service that is available to all Chamber members. Many brochures and business cards are in need of restocking.

The Chamber has a very small quantity of  2018 Labor Law posters still available for sale which feature all required federal and state notices on one poster. Remember that to be in compliance California employers are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business.  We have a limited quantity of posters so stop by the chamber office located at 1516 Main Street to purchase one for your business.

Mark your calendar to attend the first Chamber Mixer and welcome the New Year at the Thursday, February 1st mixer that will be hosted by Diamond Mountain Casino, Hotel, and Brewery, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, in the Willow Room. No-host bar and appetizers will be served. You do not need to be a Chamber member to attend everyone is welcomed and we encourage you to bring a friend to mingle with friends and business associates.

If we could have a moment of your time...

In the last 15 years SusanvilleStuff has become Lassen County's most influential media source with an average of 21,000 people visiting and reading stories about our little corner of the world each week.

SusanvilleStuff is our area's only locally owned news and information source and our commitment is to our friends and neighbors, with the goal of creating the best, all-around, most reliable content, while at the same time highlighting what makes Susanville and Lassen County so incredibly unique.

Why We Need Reader Support
Our independent, local coverage takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. While we make most of our money from advertising revenues, these days those can only go so far to support what we do. Every dollar our readers contribute goes towards making SusanvilleStuff a stronger voice in the community with better, more comprehensive content. We increasingly need the help of our readers to support us with either a voluntary subscription or a one-time contribution.

You don't have to subscribe to SusanvilleStuff, but we will be incredibly thankful if you do!
