Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Weekly Update

Sunday, January 14th, 2018

Patti Hagata, Executive Director

Thinking about starting a new business? Learn the basics for starting a business by attending a free seminar for new businesses or those in business for less than a year. The seminar is co-hosted by Plumas Bank, SCORE, and the Lassen Chamber on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 5:30pm to 7pm, at Plumas Bank 3000 Riverside Drive, Susanville.

The free business seminar will be presented by a SCORE business leader and will cover the factors for success in starting a business, advantages and disadvantages of different business opportunities, what it takes to write a business plan, financial requirements of starting and running a business, sources for financing, developing a marketing plan, pricing and branding and so much more. Come find out if starting a business is right for you. Contact SCORE at 844-232-7227 to sign up to attend the free business seminar or online /.

Chamber members should make sure that the Chamber’s visitor lobby has an adequate supply of your business cards and brochures to promote your business throughout the year. This is a free marketing service that is available to all Chamber members. Many brochures and business cards were depleted over the summer season and are in need of restocking.

The Chamber has the 2018 Labor Law posters which feature all required federal and state notices on one poster. California employers are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business.  We have a limited quantity of posters available for sale. Stop by the Chamber office, located at 1516 Main Street, to purchase one for your business.

Mark your calendar to attend the first Chamber Mixer of the year that will be hosted by Diamond Mountain Casino, Hotel, and Brewery on Thursday, February 1, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:30pm, in the Willow Room. No-host bar and appetizers will be served. You do not need to be a chamber member to attend everyone is welcomed and we encourage you to bring a friend to mingle with friends and business associates.

If we could have a moment of your time...

In the last 15 years SusanvilleStuff has become Lassen County's most influential media source with an average of 21,000 people visiting and reading stories about our little corner of the world each week.

SusanvilleStuff is our area's only locally owned news and information source and our commitment is to our friends and neighbors, with the goal of creating the best, all-around, most reliable content, while at the same time highlighting what makes Susanville and Lassen County so incredibly unique.
Why We Need Reader Support
Our independent, local coverage takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. While we make most of our money from advertising revenues, these days those can only go so far to support what we do. Every dollar our readers contribute goes towards making SusanvilleStuff a stronger voice in the community with better, more comprehensive content. We increasingly need the help of our readers to support us with either a voluntary subscription or a one-time contribution.

You don't have to subscribe to SusanvilleStuff, but we will be incredibly thankful if you do!
