Sunday, December 3rd, 2017

Patti Hagata, Executive Director

Every Bloomin’ Thing, Susanville Auto Center and Port of Subs will be teamed up to cohost the December Chamber Mixer. Join us as we kick-off the Christmas Season at the final Chamber mixer of the year on Thursday, December 7, 2017, that will be held at Every Bloomin’ Thing, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, 705-670 US Hwy 395 E., Susanville. They are planning a fun-filled evening featuring delicious food prepared by Port of Subs, no-host bar, and holiday atmosphere to enjoy friends and business associates. They encourage everyone to stop by to welcome the Christmas season and to bring a friend to join us as we celebrate this special time of the year.

Bill Payer, Tractor Supply Manager, has submitted his resignation from the chamber board due to receiving a promotion that will take him out of the area. We thank him for his service and commitment while he has served on the board. We wish him the best of luck as he steps into a new leadership role with Tractor Supply Company.

The Chamber board is accepting applications to fill one unexpired board term. Chamber members who are interested in helping to promote the business community and Lassen County by serving on the board are encouraged to apply. Stop by the Chamber office for an application or contact the chamber staff, at 257-4323, for more information or to have an application forwarded to you.

Soroptimist International of Susanville is holding their annual See’s Candy Fundraiser. Sales help fund yearly community projects and scholarships. See’s Candy will be on sale at various locations including the Chamber office. Soroptimist will also be at Susanville Supermarket the first three weekends of December selling boxed See’s Candy and Peanut Brittle from noon to 3 pm each weekend. For questions regarding the fundraising event contact Brenda Morrison 530-237-6081.

The Chamber will be ordering 2018 Labor Law posters which feature all required federal and state notices on one poster. They will be available for sale to Chamber members for $30ea. / or non-member for $40 per poster. California employers and businesses are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business.  Pre-orders are now being taken; call the Chamber office at 257-4323 if you would like to have a poster ordered for your business. Delivery of the posters is expected by the first week of January 2018.

If we could have a moment of your time...

In the last 15 years SusanvilleStuff has become Lassen County's most influential media source with an average of 21,000 people visiting and reading stories about our little corner of the world each week.

SusanvilleStuff is our area's only locally owned news and information source and our commitment is to our friends and neighbors, with the goal of creating the best, all-around, most reliable content, while at the same time highlighting what makes Susanville and Lassen County so incredibly unique.

Why We Need Reader Support
Our independent, local coverage takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. While we make most of our money from advertising revenues, these days those can only go so far to support what we do. Every dollar our readers contribute goes towards making SusanvilleStuff a stronger voice in the community with better, more comprehensive content. We increasingly need the help of our readers to support us with either a voluntary subscription or a one-time contribution.

You don't have to subscribe to SusanvilleStuff, but we will be incredibly thankful if you do!
