The Chamber board will meet on Thursday, September 14th for the monthly board meeting, beginning at noon, at Diamond Mountain Casino in the Hotel Conference Room. The board encourages member attendance and comment; if you would like to address the board please contact the office staff prior to the board meeting so that you can be added to the agenda.
Artisan Coffee, located at 644-400 Church Street, Janesville (corner of Hwy. 395 and Church Street) will again team up with Pizza Factory and Steve’s Pumps to co-host the Thursday, September 14th, Chamber Mixer. Come join for a fun evening as they celebrate Janesville area businesses and their 20th year of hosting the September mixer. The mixer will be held from 5:30 to 7:30pm and will include food, no-host bar, live music featuring “Studded Jules”, and a variety of local artists’ works will be on display. Everyone is welcomed; you do not need to be a Chamber member to attend.
The Lassen County Courthouse Centennial Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the historic courthouse square. The day’s activities will begin at 11am with a centennial celebration observance ceremony at Peter Lassen’s Monument located on Wingfield Road, Susanville, presented by the Free Masons Lassen-Janesville Lodge #149. Beginning at noon until 3:30pm the Lassen County Historical Society will guide free courthouse tours every 20 minutes of the historic courthouse, and one tour of the Susanville Cemetery will be given by local historian, Tim Purdy, from 1:30 to 2:30pm. Food and beverage will be available The evening will conclude with the Susanville Symphony third annual “Concert on the Green” that will begin at 5pm; tickets for the symphony concert can be purchased at Margie’s Book Nook and Axia Home Loans. The Chamber will team up with Plumas Bank and SCORE to present three business workshops. Whether you are starting or growing your business these workshops will offer an added way to learn from the expertise and experience of seasoned business mentors. Put SCORE’s mentors, workshops and online resources to work for your business and gain useful business expertise by attending one or all of the following free workshop; Business Start-up Basics – Tuesday, September 12, 2017 (5:30-7pm), Digital Marketing -Tuesday, September 19, 2017 (11:30-1pm), Basic Social Media- Tuesday, September 26, 2017 (11:30-1pm).
