Mark your calendar for the Thursday, June 15, 2017, Chamber Mixer that will be hosted by Lassen Co. Chamber of Commerce and co-hosted by Port of Subs, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to see the new Chamber office and Visitor information center located at1516 Main Street, Susanville. Join us to mingle with friends and business associates and check out the new space. Chamber members should be sure to bring business cards & brochures to update and restock the visitor information center. Also joining the mixer will be area organizations that will be on hand to share information about upcoming events including the Susanville Symphony, Lassen Land and Trails Trust, Lassen County Arts Council, HUSA, and SCORE. Please join us to enjoy great food prepared by Port of Subs and no–host bar. Please bring a lawn chair.
The Main Cruise Classic Car Show 25th Anniversary Celebration will be held on Friday, June 23, from 5-9pm, in Historic Uptown Susanville and Saturday, June 24th, from 2-7 pm, in Memorial Park. The two-day event will feature, kids activities, slow drag races, derby car fun runs, classic car show n’ shine, motorcycle show n’ shine, street dance, food and craft vendors, and live music featuring ‘Forgery’. There is still time to sign up to have your classic car in the show or a vendor booth at the event; applications for the car show and vendor booths are available on our website lassencountychamber.org or contact the Chamber office at 257-4323.
One of the many fun activities planned during the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Main Cruise will include the first ever Lassen County Soap Box Derby on Saturday, June 24, 2017, sponsored by the Lassen County Chamber and the City of Susanville with the help of the Silicon Valley Derby Association. This will be an officially sanctioned event. The derby will be held on Nevada Street, Susanville, beginning at 8:00 am. On Friday evening in Historic Uptown Susanville, June 23, 2017, beginning at 5:00 pm we will be holding “fun runs” where local kids can experience riding in a derby car.
