The Chamber board will meet on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 for the annual board training and planning meeting that will be held, from 9am to 1pm, at Diamond Mountain Casino- hotel conference room. The board will also welcome new board members Juanita Williams, Field Rep for Salvation Army, and Phil Fetterman, (retired- broadcasting), to their first board of directors meeting.
Congratulations to the new officer team for 2017 that were elected at the December board meeting; President, Richard Parker Integrated Insurance Broker, Vice President Bill Payer, Tractor Supply-Manager, and Treasurer, Amanda McGarva, CPA. Thank you to outgoing President, Rod Chambers, Sierra Broadcasting Corporation, and to outgoing board members, Tim Watts, Frontier Communications, and Damon Shea, C&S Waste Solutions., for their contributions and outstanding volunteer service to the Chamber.
The Chamber has received the 2017 Labor Law posters which feature all required federal and state notices on one poster. California employers are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business. If you pre-ordered a poster they are ready for pickup; stop by, Monday thru Friday, 9am to 4pm. We also have a limited quantity of extra posters available for sale if you did not place an order but need a poster. Stop by the Chamber office, 75 North Weatherlow Street, to purchase one for your business.
Let’s work to together to market our area to potential visitors. The Chamber plans to attend the Reno Outdoor Recreation Shows in March of 2017 to market area businesses and showcase all the Lassen County has to offer in outdoor adventure. We could use your help; if you are willing to volunteer to staff the booth and market our area please call the chamber office at 257-4323 to be added to the volunteer list.
