To celebrate Black History Month, Lassen Community College will host a free community luncheon from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. The menu will feature ‘Soul Food’ fare and will include fried chicken, collard greens, mac and cheese, fried okra, cornbread, blackberry cobbler and refreshments. No reservation is required and the community is encouraged to attend. All proceeds will benefit the Lassen College Scholarship Fund for local high school and charter school students.

Join Family Lit Rocks for more learning and fun at the next workshop, Picnic at the Library scheduled from 11:00-1:00 pm at the Lassen library. All parents, grandparents and/or guardians that have children 5 years and under are welcome to participate. These workshops are geared toward helping adult learners model reading and other pre-kindergarten strategies, making story time fun in creative ways. Don’t forget, attending and enrolling in our adult literacy program, LASSENLITROCKS, means free books to take home to build your own libraries!
