Lassen Economic Development Corporation in Westwood has a job opening.

Position: Weatherization Crewmember

Closing Date: Open Until Filled

Salary: DOE


Under the supervision of the Weatherization Crew Leader, installs energy savings measure on homes per the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) contract grant and perform minor home repairs.


  • Install smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Install LED lightbulbs and nightlights
  • Install floor and attic insulation and venting
  • Install new energy efficient appliances
  • Weatherstrip doors
  • Install caulking
  • Install low flow showerheads and faucet aerators
  • Install water heater blankets and pipe wrap
  • Install cover plates and cover plate gaskets
  • Repair and/or install doors
  • Install windows and/or storm windows
  • Perform minor home repairs
  • Perform diagnostic testing as trained
  • Complete paperwork for each job
  • Clean shop and vehicles weekly
  • Help maintain shop and yard
  • Help with snow removal
  • Perform monthly inventory
  • Perform other related duties as required/needed


  • Valid California Drivers License
  • Ability to perform lifting, climbing, bending and crawling in small spaces
  • Ability to relate with clients
  • Ability to perform basic math computations
  • Ability to use and maintain carpentry and plumbing tools
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to pass OSHA 10 hour Construction Safety Course
  • Must be able to attend and pass 3 weeks of classes at the Weatherization Training Center in Stockton within 6 months of hire date
